“Marelia” is one of those places.
 
Suspended beneath the water's surface, she rises effortlessly toward the light above her.

Not escaping.
Not fighting.
Simply becoming.
 
Her red hair drifts like a current of fire through the blue silence.
Around her, water transforms into movement, reflection, and atmosphere.
The painting shifts throughout the day.
 
Morning light reveals delicate turquoise tones and soft reflections.
In the evening, deeper blues emerge, creating a quieter and more contemplative presence.
 
From a distance, the composition feels calm and almost weightless.
Up close, layers of texture appear — expressive brushstrokes, translucent veils of colour, fragments of light hidden within the water.
 
There is no drama in her expression.
Only trust.
Only surrender.
Only the certainty that light exists, even beneath the surface.

Layer by layer, I work over the surface with acrylics, creating texture, depth, and luminous transitions that cannot exist in a digital image alone.
Broad expressive gestures meet delicate details.
Light, water, reflections, and skin tones evolve through countless interventions by hand.
No print or photograph can fully capture the surface, texture, or changing character of the original.
 
What exists in this piece exists only once.
